A deepwater operator wanted the ability to transmit data from below a closed BOP with no or low flow conditions.
The acoustic telemetry network was deployed with tools below and above a BOP to test the functionality when the BOP’s were closed and with little or no flow.
The acoustic telemetry network continuously transmitted real-time data before during and after the closure of the BOP’s. Many applications require this ability both in the drilling, intermediate and completion phases of operation. This opens the window for acquiring realtime downhole measurements during well control operations, whilst squeezing cement and while conducting frac pack and gravel pack completion installations.
